Is Licensing Models’ Images The Future Of AI In Fashion Campaigns?

José Aragón, an experienced fashion photographer, returned to Madrid after 15 years in Japan and, adapting to the changes of the post-COVID world, began using artificial intelligence tools such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and DALL-E. He transformed his creative process into what he calls “sintography,” a fusion of photography and technology that allowed him to generate images from textual descriptions.

In collaboration with digital artist Carrie Crigler, Aragón worked on the campaign for sustainable brand Thalie Paris, using the faces of real models in digital avatars. This innovative approach protects the rights of models, who license the use of their images, ensuring control over their visual identity and extending their careers in a sector that values youth.
